This is a nicely detailed necklace featuring the highest deity in Zoroastrianism, Ahura Mazda.
Ahura Mazda is known by many different names:
- Oromasdes
- Ohrmazd
- Ahuramazda
- Hourmazd
- Hormazd
- Hurmuz
- and 95 other names!
The first mention of Ahura Mazda was around 550 BC in the time of the first Persian empire and he was worshipped by royalty downwards.
Ahura Mazda literally means Lord of Wisdom and this god is described as being wholly wise, benevolent and good.
Both the pendant and metal chain are made from strong antique silver coloured alloy.
The metal chain of the necklace measures approximately 45cm.
