McConnell FIRST CROSSING. New York, W.W. Norton. 1983.
This account of a couple’s in a small sailboat from New York to Greece is unique. They est describe it themselves, “We are both writers, and we are aware that...the passage would affect us deeply and possibly change us in unforeseen ways, both as individuals and as a couple.”
They were at sea in a thirty-foot sailboat for two months, their destination the Mediterranean. Before they arrived, they experienced what seasoned sailors learn to expect of the Atlantic: storm, near-collision, devastating calm, and, more importantly, perhaps, the internal stresses and satisfaction of meeting both natural and personal crises.
Very good condition. Tight binding, clean interior. Minor shelf wear to dust jacket. New Brodart protective cover.
