This cave has been designed not only to offer a safe feeling hide but the top surface also acts as an ideal basking platform. Just as wild reptiles will choose a rock heated by the sun to bask on, your own reptiles will appreciate the warmth that the slate surface will retain from a heat lamp. A heat mat can also be used under the cave to heat the floor as the heat will radiate nicely through the slate, just be sure to regulate the temperature.
The slate is very easy to clean, it can be washed with water and any regular vivarium cleaners or disinfectants can be used on it. The surface can also hold up to a good scrubbing, no nasty flaking paint or plastic here!
