This is "Hector Protector and As I Went Over the Water: Two Nursery Rhymes with Pictures" by Maurice Sendak, in a first edition published by Harper & Row in 1965. This classic Sendak book is a true first edition, with all the first edition points as enumerated in Hanrahan (A65): dust jacket price of $4.25 and numbers 40-80 1165 on the front flap and correct blurb on the rear flap. Condition of the book is Near Fine, with remarkably little to no wear. The unclipped dust jacket is about Very Good Plus, showing a tiny bit of wear to the lower front corner, tiny chips to the upper corners, a very small internally mended tear to the upper front edge and a small tear at the front spine gutter. There is a very small (.25" x .5") stain on the rear cover. A very clean copy of this increasingly hard-to-find Sendak title.
