Boys Don't Cry Issue 1

Pop Up Store 1st Print Edition

Available for one day only on August 20, 2016 at four 'pop-up' locations in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and London.

It contains the original Cdr album. Of which two tracks where changed for later pressings. This is the only official release of "Nikes" featuring a verse by rapper 'Kohh' at the end of song  and "Pretty Sweet" lacks the verse sung by Ocean over the distorted guitar intro (which appeared on later versions).

The magazine includes contributions from Tyler, the Creator, Lil B, Frank Ocean's mother, Kanye West, Wolfgang Tillmans, Tom Sachs and Viviane Sassen among others, and features a list of 44 album contributors.

The cover shows Frank, in a pose reminiscent of the character/scene from Tarantino’s Kill Bill Vol. 1 (as shown in the final photo) this comparison ended up being widely reported in the blogs. However, Frank has said in an interview, that he was jealous of Daft Punk because they could wear helmets and be anonymous, so maybe it's also about that.

The helmet itself is a custom Aral GP-6RC that costs around $4,000 USD.  The helmet text reads "Rauh-Welt Begriff" or RWB. RWB is a Porsche shop with a particular location in Japan, among other places. The Japan branch is managed by race-car driver Toshiya Tom Ichiraku. Toshiya's Instagram video shows the helmet being used by himself, during a race. Weeks later, he also posted the cover image of Frank wearing his helmet, mentioning Frank's album release.

If this isn't obvious enough, the helmet also says "Ichiraku" in the lower left portion of the helmet. Frank's mentioned traveling to not only Japan, but to various racetracks throughout the completion of Blonde and this is probably no exception.

"Toshi San & Ichiraku San (RWB)" is listed under the "Special Thanks" category, confirming his involvement with this project.

Like most collectors I value condition of an item the most important aspect when buying.
Which I’m sure potential buyers understand may involve a premium when sourcing rare or
limited collectible items in new or like new condition.
