Published in 1919 by Casa Editorial Minerva, Santiago.
Two rare volumes by Hugh Algernon Weddell.
| Voyage dans la Sud de la Bolivie and Voyage dans la
Nord de la Bolivie |
Each was published by Bertrand, Paris in 1851 and 1853 respectively.
Two separate volumes attractively rebound by the New York Historical Society in full red library buckram with gilt titles in 1944. There are no library markings other than the gilt to the spines. Both bindings are tight and clean and in almost fine condition.
The Sud volume has the original tan wrappers bound in and possibly rebacked, at least the rear wrapper anyway. With 400 pages of text within 24 chapters.
The Nord volume does not have the original wrappers bound in. With 571 pages in 31 chapters with 2 engraved plates, 2 textual illustrations and a folding map in the rear which may have been rebacked. Also the half title I believe has been rebacked ( all professionally done by the museum) with some occasional light scattered foxing. This volume with an inscription by the author to a doctor? on the half title as shown.
