This auction is for a genuine MAC 3 port boost control Solenoid. This extremely compact Solenoid only has a 2 wire installation and port connections are listed making installation very easy. MAC solenoids are used to compliment many different aftermarket electronic boost controllers and these are also the tuners favourite to use in conjunction with a standard or aftermarket ECUs.Please note that an ECU remap is required to gain the full benefits of an upgraded boost control solenoid.
This is the same solenoid used by Turbosmart, AEM, Haltech, Vipec, Gizzmo, Autronic etc at a fraction of the price. This is a genuine part supplied by MAC that is full automotive specification, however many solenoids on Ebay are just "general use" grade solenoids that are not designed for automotive use. R-Spec Performance is the largest MAC automotive solenoid stockist within the UK so you can buy with 100% confidence.
Please also see our other Ebay items for solenoid specific CNC mounting brackets.
R-Spec Performance Products Ltd is probably the largest
gauge supplier in the UK and we hold everything in stock ready for immediate
dispatch. We have 1000's of gauges & pods etc in stock so please check our
other Ebay items or just contact us with your requirement so that we can list
it for you.
R-Spec Performance is an authorised MAC distributor and only
sell genuine UK "automotive spec" MAC valves. As with most branded
products Ebay is flooded with counterfeit Chinese copies of these valves that
have no warranty or quality guarantee (the price generally gives it away), so
beware of copies or non automotive grade solenoids. As there are so many
Chinese copies on Ebay now we have worked with MAC representatives to compile
some info at the bottom of this listing to help buyers identify between
genuine/fake valves, there are also some pictures to help with this.
How to: Help on how to spot fake valves
Price: Chinese copies are generally much cheaper (especially direct from China). MAC have strict/structured pricing so considerably
cheaper products are very unlikely to be genuine.
Location: Every cheap valve from China that we have seen has not been genuine.
Retail packaging: Most of the fake MAC valves are retail
boxed as packaging has also been copied.
Internal packaging / Plastic bag: The Chinese internal
packaging often has spelling mistakes. We have shown an example of this in our
images.
Date of manufacture: Chinese copies generally have older
dates of manufacture printed on the rear like 2013, 2014, 2015 etc. We have
shown an example of this in our images.
Embossed letter "P": We have noticed that nearly all of the Chinese fake valves
have the letter “P” cast onto the front of the valve, so this can often be a
very clear initial indication. We have shown an example of this in our images.
Brass Muffler Fittings: We have noticed that nearly all of the Chinese fake valves are
supplied with a brass coloured exhaust/muffler, so once again this can often be
a very clear initial indication as these are not required and don’t really
serve any purpose. We have shown an example of this in our images.
Coil gasket: It is quite common for the Chinese copied
valves to be missing the rubber gasket between the coil/valve bodies. This
results in water ingress and premature failure amongst other possible issues as
a direct result. We have shown an example of this in our images.
Internal hammer guide sleeve: It is also quite common for
the Chinese copied valves to be missing the internal hammer guide sleeve. This
results in inconsistent operation and premature failure amongst other possible
issues as a direct result. We have shown an example of this in our images.
Top Screws/screw in cap: Chinese copies generally use poor
quality (often zinc yellow) coil fixing screws, so again this can often be a
very clear initial indication. Also the manual actuation cap on top of the
valve is often visually of poor quality and commonly loose (original caps are
thread locked to stop them working loose in operation). We have shown an
example of this in our images.
