- Powder coat is thicker and more durable than regular paint-which means it last longer and won’t scratch as easy, if others are using Rust-oleum or spray paint it is not going to be very durable. Also, powder coat is way more environmentally friendly because it doesn’t release a lot of toxic fumes when it’s being applied and drying, like spray paint or other oil based paints.
- 14 gauge steel is actually thicker than 16 or 18 gauge steel. I say this because it doesn’t seem like that should be right. if the product description says 18 gauge steel, that’s pretty thin ☹ We pay extra to get the thicker 14 gauge steel so you have a heavier duty sign!
