These hoops are made from Agathis Wood which is also known as "commercial grade mahogany" and is commonly used in the manufacture of guitars and other similar musical instruments. The hoops have a smooth satin finish and slightly rounded off bevelled edges giving extra quality to ensure a super smooth finish.

Ideal for hand embroidery, cross stitch and sewing.

We have a range of 9 sizes available from: 3 inch to 12 inch (8cm to 30cm) diameter and a width of 1cm.

Some sizes are also available as part of a pack for better value. 

Embroidery Needles

4 Different size packs of embroidery needles (also known as Crewel Needles) are also available in this listing. Each pack contains 16 needles and in the following options: 

• Size 3/9
• Size 5/10
• Size 7
• Size 8

In comparison to general sewing ~ Embroidery (Crewel) needles tend to have a longer eye to enable easier threading of multiple embroidery threads and thicker yarns.

 As a general guide, needle sizing is referred to by its wire gauge number. The lower the number, the thicker the needle. For example a pack of 3/9 would be an assortment of 16 needles ranging between size 3 and 9. A pack of size 8 would be all 16 needles in size 8 and is quite a thin diameter needle compared to a size 3.
