The Cambridge Mouth Pelham is a pelham with a medium height port.

Pelham bits attempt the same results as a double bridle, but using only one bit. They work on the points of control in the mouth, plus the poll and curb groove. The result of pressure on the curb groove, is a pivoting action, causing the head to tilt into the conventional 'on the bit' position.

The Cambridge ported mouthpiece is an alternative to the straight bar for horses with a larger tongue. This mouthpiece is very useful for those horses that have a very soft mouth and don't like complicated mouthpieces, it may also be useful for horses that back off the contact and need that extra bit of confidence in the bit.
