It comes with all the cables you'll need for all 4 PCs and works
perfectly. No problems at all. Plugged everything in and it just works
without any degradation in performance or picture quality.
It
might look a little cheap, but the fact is you are going to have 15
cables sticking out of the thing, so you're going to hide it if you have
any sense at all, and so how it looks will make no difference. The
whole point of a KVM switch is so that you can do your switching from a
single keyboard.
This is the one to buy if you have non-USB
keyboards and mice. You plug your non-USB keyboard and mouse and your
monitor into one set of plugs, then you use the included cables to
connect the switch to the PCs you want to use (the PCs must have non-USB
keyboard and mouse connections) and that's it. It draws power from the
systems to which it is connected.
The IOGEAR GCS14 4-Port MiniView PC PS/2 KVM Switch Kit with Cables (PS/2) allows
seamless operation of up to 4 PCs through just one triplet of PS/2
Keyboard, analog VGA Video monitor and PS/2 Mouse. Cables are included
for connecting the PCs (two are 8 ft, two are 3 ft), which is a great
advantage over other KVM Switch solutions which come without cables. The
[CTRL][LEFT SHIFT][{PC Number from 1 to 4}][ENTER] keystroke
combination lets you switch between PCs. It also has a continuous
switching mode which can be activated through [CTRL][LEFT SHIFT][RIGHT
ARROW][ENTER] which connects each PC for several seconds and goes on to
the next in a round-robin fashion. Switching between machines can also
be done by the front panel button. There are ports for each PC's KVM
cabling on the sides of the device and on the rear side there are inputs
for the standard PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse, and the analog VGA connector
for the monitor. This excellent product is PC powered through the VGA
console port so you don't need more power outlets than those needed for
the attached PCs, and it can display video modes up to 1920x1080x32 @
60Hz. Works as advertised. No longer do I have to use more than one keyboard
to address three of my computers and they all get the benefit of my two
monitors. Comes with some pretty robust cabling that addresses all three
connections of all four ports. Some of this products competitors come
with no cabling at a larger expense. Nice unit. Lightweight. This item worked exactly as described. Hard to find things like this that truly work the way they are intended.
