This is an old New York Circuit Court document, dated October 16, 1838.

This document is concerned with a case from Schenectady
County.

The judge in this case was John P. Cushman (1784-1848), who also
served in Congress as a member of the Federalist Party.

The case involved three men
named Joseph Lyon, Garrett Clute, and John Clute,
plus two witnesses named Abraham Van Vorst and Alexander Gibson.


This document is
partly printed and partly handwritten.

It is signed by a court clerk named Archibald Campbell.


The list of jurors includes the names of Thaddeus King,
Jonathan Hagadorn, Silas Tripp, and Martin Wilbur.


The document is about 13" by 8". It is in good condition, with creases
where it has been folded, light browning, and some general wear.
