This is a signed letter from Hector Garcia-Godoy (1921-1970),

a diplomat who served as the provisional President of the

Dominican Republic from 1965 to 1966. He had previously

served as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of the Dominican

Republic, and as Foreign Minister. Later, he was appointed

Ambassador to the United States, serving until 1969.



Garcia-Godoy died of a heart attack at the early age of 49.



The letter is undated. It appears that the top of the letter
(which may have had a date, address, etc.) has been cut off.

The letter is about 8" by 6". It is addressed to an American
autograph collector, and is signed by Garcia-Godoy in blue ink. 

The letter is in good condition, with creases and general wear.

It is enclosed in a clear plastic sleeve, for protection.
