An ornate Art Nouveau design letter box cover with a beautiful antique look. A solid, and high quality letter plate. The letter flap reads LETTERS and closes by gravity.
Sand cast from solid brass. Hand polished with an unlacquered finish.

Two fixing bolts are supplied which go through the door and screw into the rear of the letterplate. The supplied bolts are suitable for doors up to 6cm thick and can be cut to suit thinner doors.
How they are made
The letter plates are "sand cast" - the same process uséd to make the Victorian original. Molten brass is poured into sand moulds, formed using an antique pattern. When cool, the casts are hand finished and polished. This makes an authentic antique style which is not machine finished. This makes an authentic antique style which is not machine finished.

Brass develops a mature and mellow patina over time. Many people love this traditional look, but if you feel the brass is getting dirty and covered in grime then you can clean the letter plate with lukewarm soapy water and a soft brush or cloth. Avoid using abrasive materials as they can scratch the surface of the brass. For a more radiant sheen, use a good quality brass polish.
