MAX RED PIGMENT PASTE

8-Fluid Ounces Of Red Pigment Paste

Color Pigment Paste For Epoxy Resins

RED COLOR CONCENTRATE PASTE COLOR ADDITIVE FOR EPOXY USE

MAX COLOR CONCENTRATE PASTE are concentrated color additives used to tint and color epoxy resin systems. It is a highly concentrated paste that exhibits strong color saturation and excellent color fastness. It is comprised of high-quality powder color pigments dispersed in an epoxy resin binder. It is processed through chromium hardened grind roller mill for absolute dispersion and color uniformity. This special processing breaks down pigment agglomerates into individual submicron particles.

Special additives are also added to prevent agglomeration and to increase opacity and color quality.
MAX COLOR CONCENTRATE PASTE are a smooth workable paste that are 100 percent reactive and compatible with thermoset epoxy resin systems. It will not reduce or alter the gloss property of the epoxy resin or other mechanical properties. The dispersion paste will not leach or bleed off making it suitable for protective, decorative coatings and casting applications.

MAX COLOR CONCENTRATE PASTE is an excellent additive to enhance overall UV resistance properties.

MAX COLOR CONCENTRATE PASTE can be used in any of our MAX Epoxy Resin System.

Add MAX COLOR CONCENTRATE PASTE to the Resin component and mix until the paste is completely incorporated. It is highly concentrated so a 3% addition to a clear epoxy system will produce translucent to opaque color density. This 8-ounce kit will tint up to a gallon of epoxy resin to an opaque color. It can be blended with other colors to create any desired colors. Additions of greater than 5% to the epoxy resin will require adjustment of the curing agent mix ratio.

All of our MAX COLOR CONCENTRATE PASTE are free of silicone additive or surfactants that may interfere with adhesion. The paste is milled using a precision 3 roll mill, which ensures pigment dispersion and particle size reduction of no greater than 2 microns.

1 micron unit is equivalent to 0.039370079 inch or mils. To put it in simple perspective, a particle measuring 25 microns is 1/16 the size the human eye can detect.

Every MAX COLOR CONCENTRATE PASTE goes through the same process of pigment particle reduction to less than 2 microns using a three-roll milling process, vacuum degassing and precise color analyzing to ensure uniformity. This process also ensures a homogeneous dispersion of the color pigment with the epoxy binder.

ALL COLOR CONCENTRATES ARE TESTED FOR FINENESS OF GRIND,

DISPERSION AND OPACITY

Hegman Fineness of Grind Gauge measure the particle size of a pigment particle from 100 to 0 microns.

1 Micron Unit is equivalent to 0.00003970079 inch or mils.

Large Batch Color Pigment Addtion
Mixing large batch requires mechnical mixing with a mixxing impeller for proper dispersion.
Add the
MAX COLOR CONCENTRATE PASTE with the PART A resin component only.
Mix well, then allow the mixture to rest for 24 hours and allow mixed air bubbles to outgass

COLOR THEORY AND BLENDING
They form the full spectrum of colors which progress around the Primary Color Wheel in gradual increments.
Each color can be mixed with other colors to create secondary colors, etc.

There are also definitions (or categories) of colors based on the color wheel. We begin with a 3-part color wheel.

Primary Secondary Tertiary Colors

Primary Colors:
Red, yellow and blue
In traditional color theory, primary colors are the 3 pigment colors that cannot be mixed or formed by any combination of other colors.
Secondary Colors:
These are the colors formed by mixing the primary colors.
Green, orange and purple
Tertiary Colors:
These are the colors formed by mixing a primary and a secondary color.
Yellow-orange, red-orange, red-purple, blue-purple, blue-green yellow-green.

Color Theory

Hue: A pure pigment
Tint: A pure pigment mixed with white
Tone: A pure pigment mixed with gray, or a mix of tinting and shading
Shade: A pure pigment mixed with black

TINTS
A Tint is sometimes called a Pastel. It's simply any color with white added. A color scheme using Tints is soft, youthful and soothing.
Tints would work well in in a girl's room or for a website targeted to women.
SHADES
A Shade is simply any color with black added. Shades are deep, powerful and mysterious.
They work well in a masculine environment and are best used as dark accents.
TONES
A Tone is created by adding both White and Black. Any color that is "grayed down" is considered a Tone. Tones are somehow more pleasing to the eye. They are complex, subtle and sophisticated and the best choice for most interior decorating and work well in almost any color scheme.
