A: In general the spring rate is the same on all the heavy duty shocks,
the springs are the same, only the springs on the black have been powdercoated.
Spring length varies on whether it is installed on the shock or not.
also, these are true Progressive type shocks and have two separate springs
installed with a spacer between them.

A: I have not put them on an 01 ACE 750, but if you have eye to eye shocks, these will install, as they are also eye to eye configuration.

A: Sorry, i am not sure. you didnt mention size or weight, or if you have eye to eye shock mounts.
If you have eye to eye, then these will work, and come with 3 sizes of bushings to fit nearly all mounts. best, steve in CA

one of the grommet sizes is 3/8 about 4" from bottom to where the springs
start.
