Measuring and Cutting

Measure all surfaces carefully and allow additional material for curves, contours, folded edges, joins and final trimming.

The carpet can be cut using suitable sharp scissors or a sharp craft knife. Always work on a stable, protected surface and follow the cutting tool manufacturer's safety instructions.

For complex shapes, creating a paper or cardboard template before cutting the carpet can help improve accuracy and reduce waste.

Position and test-fit the carpet before applying adhesive. Do not cut the final edge until you are satisfied with the placement.

Fitting and Adhesive Guidance

This listing is for lining carpet only. Adhesive, tools and other fitting materials are not included unless specifically stated elsewhere in the listing.

  • Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from dust or grease
  • Use an adhesive suitable for automotive carpet and the surface being covered
  • Use an appropriate high-temperature adhesive for vehicle roofs and other heat-exposed areas
  • Test the adhesive on an offcut and a hidden part of the surface first
  • Follow the adhesive manufacturer's application and ventilation instructions
  • Work gradually to avoid wrinkles, trapped air and unwanted creases
  • Allow the adhesive to cure fully before using the vehicle

Some adhesives and solvents may mark, harden or damage the carpet. Always carry out a compatibility test before completing the installation.

Acoustic Use

This product is commonly used for speaker-box lining and vehicle interior trim. Its soft carpeted surface can help create a finished interior and reduce hard, reflective surfaces when correctly installed.

The term “acoustic” does not mean that the material is completely soundproof. Finished acoustic performance will depend on the complete construction, substrate, insulation, adhesive and installation method. No numerical sound-reduction rating is stated for this material.

Cleaning and Care

  • Remove loose dust with a vacuum or soft brush
  • Blot spills promptly rather than rubbing them into the surface
  • Use a mild cleaning product suitable for polypropylene carpet
  • Test cleaning products on an offcut or hidden area first
  • Supplier care guidance is hand wash or cool wash only
  • Avoid bleach, aggressive solvents and abrasive brushes
  • Allow the material to dry fully before enclosing or covering it

Fire-Retardant Information

This vehicle lining carpet is supplied with a fire-retardant specification.

Fire retardant does not mean fireproof. Keep the material away from open flames, sparks, hot exhaust components and excessive direct heat.

Where fire certification is required for a commercial, public-service, regulated or specialist vehicle installation, the buyer should check the current certificate and confirm that it meets the requirements of the intended application.
