Fitting is simple:
- Clean your wheels with the 3M wipes.
- Wipe on the 3M adhesion promoter.
- Stick the Rimblades on using the guide edge.
- Cut to size and fit the joining clips with the glue.
- Let everything dry properly before driving.

- Designed for light protection only – not suitable for heavy kerb hits or impacts.

Rimblades Ltd is a family business from United Kingdom that was established in 2010 with a mission to produce good value and easy to fit rim protection & styling products. We were the first company to globally market a flexible rim protector that was bonded to a wheel with a 3M VHB tape.
Rimblades are designed for drivers looking for great value wheel protection & styling that is affordable, colourful and easy to fit themselves. They are designed as a sacrificial performance upgrade that requires changing after an impact in most circumstances, but will reduce any rim damage.
Because Rimblades are a bond on upgrade the 3M VHB (very high bond) tape adds an extra cushioning level between the rim protector and the wheel and actually protects the surface beneath. We use the same grade of 3M tape across our bond on product range, which is a specific automotive high performance grade with an orange heavy duty liner.
The 3M tape bonds using viscous flow and takes 72 hours to reach maximum adhesion levels, but as we combine this with an adhesion promoter a usable bond is obtained immediately and they can be fitted year round as long as the wheel is dry and free from contaminants.
All our bond on products require a clean & contaminant free mounting surface. The product relies totally on the customer taking adequate steps to ensure the wheel surface is clean and contaminant free. If your Rimblades fail it will only ever be due to a lack of surface preparation. We only use genuine 3M bonding products in our kits, which are quite frankly the best available in the world.
The Rimblades pre-clean gel included in the deluxe kit versions will remove contaminants on the rim surface prior to bonding, but if your wheels/tyres are heavily contaminated with tyre shine products, we also suggest you buy Rimblades Tyre Shine Remover as an additional step.
If Rimblades ever fail the reason in 98% of cases is tyre shine as the instructions were not followed. So if for example you have recently bought a car from a dealership, it is pretty much guaranteed to have had tyre shine applied and this WILL need to be removed before bonding on Rimblades products.
The other 2% of failures are either due to poorly painted wheels where a rim has been repainted without the paint being properly adhered to the rim surface or damaged during a tyre change and not replaced. If you’ve had your rims repainted on the cheap and the paint has not been hardened properly, Rimblades will bond to the paint, but if the paint is not bonded to the wheel they will simply pull the paint off.
All our patented products are proudly made in the UK and all our packaging is locally sourced. We make bond on rim protectors in very basic terms in a D shape with a guide lip, in an L shape with an additional lip and in a C shape, so can cater for most wheel rim shapes that have a continuous flat or rounded edge profile. We don’t recommend fitting Rimblades products to wheels with a non-continuous mounting surface.
