Commonly known as the sacrificial gear.
If you have an issue with your gear box, it is usually this particular gear that requires attention. Usually, the stripped/damaged gear is caused by cheap or incorrectly mixed Slushie mixes. When mixes are not right and the Brix level is not between 12-14 it causes the machine to play up. If the mix is under the required level it tends to grip the evaporator (the silver cylinder) too well and the auger/spiral and gears will be affected.
Hence, a broken auger/spiral or gears/gear
boxes will need to be replaced.
The Elco gear box is commonly used is the following machines;
GBG
Carpigiani
Sencotel
Staff Ice
Arctic Dream
Stoelting
Elmeco Mach
Cab Faby
SPM
and many more...
