This is a handmade hairpin from Tampaksiring, Bali.  Beautifully made, this decorative hairpin looks very pretty on.   The natural wood is variegated in colour with lovely markings and the rounded design shows off the lovely Paua shell inlay beautifullyl.  Each pin is quite unique!   They give a beautiful touch to your long hair when it is pinned up, and also make a wonderful gift for others.

This two pronged pin measures approx 4.3 cm in width near the top end and 14 cm in length (usable length is 9.5 cm), weighing approx 13 g.   It is handmade from Sono wood, a sustainable and durable hard wood which holds up well in moving to dry colder climates, and has beautiful markings.  It is much more common than other tropical hardwoods of comparable beauty- some of which have been sadly overused and now have become rare. 

This product is made in Tampaksiring, a small town in the centre of Bali.   We first spotted these lovely hairpins in Yogyakarta and bought some there, and by an amazing coincidence we met the maker while traveling home via Bali.  We buy direct from the maker – resulting in fantastic prices for you!
