The Furutech FI-09 Socket is a high quality IEC inlet featuring rhodium plated pure copper Alpha-treated conductors (the Alpha treatment is detailed below). Rhodium is used as it is a harder metal, making it harder wearing than other metals found on other products. The Furutech IEC is a chassis-mount IEC socket. This is a very high quality IEC, featuring a nylon/fibreglass construction. This socket is able to accept up to 4mm diameter wire and uses screw-type connections. Please note that the socket is unusually deep, protruding 31mm inside the chassis (not including the cabling). These sockets are rated at 15A at 250V AC. Furutech use a process they call "Alpha Treatment" on all metal parts in their products. All metal parts of a Furutech socket are cryogenically treated, which, Furutech claim, changes the molecular structure of the metal parts, helping improve electrical conductivity and signal transfer. These metal parts are then demagnetized using the patented Ring Demagnetization treatment, which, Furutech claim, utilizes controlled attenuation to completely eliminate magnetization for immediately more vivid and colourful improvements.
