ZX Panel and Loop Card Compatibility...
Please note that old and new (460mA) loop cards are
not interchangeable between ZXe and ZXSe panels as
they use different supply voltages. However there are
some exceptions applicable to the ZX5Se only.
The old loop cards used a jumper selected 38/28V
supply while the new card uses a 35.5V supply. The
panel PSU has been modified to support this new
supply voltage.
ZXe panels are not compatible with the 460mA card due
to the higher supply voltage.
The ZX1Se & ZX2Se use the built-in base board booster
to generate the loop card supply, so the correct loop
cards must be used.
The ZX5Se uses an additional output from the PSU
which must be connected via a flying lead to power the
460mA loop cards. It has also retained the original base
card booster which can run the old loop cards. The panel
is compatible with both styles of loop card however
performance is limited if the old loop card is used.
ZXe
Only compatible with old style (38V) Apollo, Hochiki,
System Sensor, Morley-IAS, Honeywell and Nittan
(28V) cards.
ZX1Se & ZX2Se
Only compatible with new (35.5V) Apollo, Hochiki,
System Sensor, Morley-IAS 460mA cards, and Nittan
(28V) cards.
ZX5Se
35.5V Auxiliary PSU (must use flying lead) – compatible
with 460mA cards.
38/28V Base Board Booster (no flying lead) – compatible
with old Apollo, Hochiki (38V) and Nittan (28V) cards.
