THE HOUSE OF THE HEART by Irving Browne was published 1897 in Buffalo by The Peter Paul Book Co., 1st edition in a limited edition of 300 unnumbered copies. It measures 6 3/8" x 4 3/8" with 156 pages, small b+w decorations, top page edge gilt, gilt cover titling and small cover decoration.

Irving Browne was editor of the Albany Law Journal, author of Humorous Phrases of the Law, Law and Lawyers in Literature etc. and noted book collector.

Light cover rubbing and edgewear; purple Z pencilled on front endpaper; the last 2 pages and rear endpaper chipped at outer 1/2" page edge from separation, not affecting text. The title page is separating at the top 1 3/4" from the hine; a name and 1899 date are inked on the front endpaper. It is otherwise solid and clean.
