This listing is for ONE of these large 11” x 14” UN-framed and restored RCA advertisement. There are two ads to select from here. I have another listing in my eBay store for 3 other ads from 1937, 1939, and 1950; so please check these out, as they have been very popular. The ads are also available framed if you desire. This listing is NOT for any of the microphones shown in the artwork.
Referring to the photos, .
The #1 ad is from 1935 and features the MI-4010. The 4010 can be thought of as the first Junior Velocity microphone, preceding the 74-A and 74-B. However, it was not called the Junior Velocity microphone; that name was created for the 74 series.
Historical Significance: The MI-4010 came out in 1935, 2-3 years after the 44 series. The 4010 is in the 1936 catalog, but not in the 1937 catalog, where it had already been replaced by the 74-B (the Jr. Velocity). So the 74-A (with adjustable yoke) must have been sold for about 5 minutes! The prices of the MI-4010 and the 74-B were the same in 1935-37. The rare stand in the photo is the MI-4068 Studio Floor Stand, which was later redesigned for a sleeker look.
The #2 ad is from 1960 and features the RCA broadcast microphones available that year, in “Living Color!”. The ad features the BK-5A (with and without the boom mount), and the BK-1, 77-DX, SK-45, and SK-46 microphones. Several RCA microphone connectors and stand adapters are also featured. This is the only restored ad that I have featuring the famous 77-DX microphone.
Thanks to my computer remastering work, they look better than if you found an original publication featuring these advertisements. They appear brand new, very sharp and realistic, and are individually printed on the finest, thick glossy photo paper.
As with all prints, they must be displayed behind glass and out of direct sunlight to protect and preserve them. The 11” x 14” prints are a standard size, and frames are readily available at many stores.
Be sure to mention the # and the year of the ads you want after you have purchased them in a note to the seller. If you purchase multiple items from us, we will box this print separately to insure the integrity of the print. Any other purchases can typically be combined.
We combine shipping to save you money. Our preferred method is USPS Priority Flat Rate Padded Envelope. Our international sales are handled through eBAY and they instruct us where to ship the merchandise for processing to your country. If you wish another method of shipping or want to make sure the shipping price is accurate, please contact us. Our standard policy will be to refund any excess shipping that eBay's calculator may charge over a modest handling fee for your entire purchase.
