BOYS AND GIRLS OF BOOKLAND by Nora Archibald Smith published by David McKay circa 1923. This hardcover book measures 9 3/8" x 12 1/8" with 100 pages, 11 full page color plates by Jessie Willcox Smith and a color paste on pictorial cover. It contains eleven stories of famous child characters in fiction with beautiful full color plate for each by Jessie Willcox Smith. The stories included are: David Copperfield, Little Women, Jackanapes, Tiny Tim, Hans Brinker, Alice In Wonderland, The Little Lame Prince, Heide the Alpine Rose, Mowgli, Little Nell, and Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm.

The front cover paste on shows Alice surrounded by characters from Wonderland. Light soiling to bottom of page 49 and there are a few random spots of foxing. The binding is worn at the extremities and the spine ends have been reglued. The spine titling is rubbed and there is a closed tear to the spine cloth. The covers have light rubbing and soiling. The book is solid and otherwise clean in Good+ condition. An owner's name is inked on the half title page and the reverse of the frontis illustration has an inked Christmas gift inscription at the top. The illustrations are all present and in Very Good condition. A wonderful vintage children's book!
