Robin Hood Elephant & Hippo Figure Set · Disney Heroes · Famosa 2005 · Sealed
Two of Prince John's royal retinue from Disney's Robin Hood, new and sealed since 2005.
In 2004 and 2005 the Spanish toymaker Famosa produced Disney Heroes, a line of figures and playsets based on Disney's 1973 animated classic Robin Hood. This set brings together two of the film's colorful supporting characters: an elephant herald with his trumpet and a hippo drummer, plus a halberd accessory. It is new old stock, still sealed in its original packaging.

The animal world of Robin Hood
Disney's Robin Hood (1973) retold the legend with animals: Robin as a clever fox, Little John as a bear and Prince John as a vain lion. Around them, the film's Nottingham was full of elephant heralds, hippo townsfolk and other characters who give the story its warmth and comedy.
This set captures that supporting cast: a hooded purple elephant raising his trumpet and an orange hippo with his drum, two figures that turn a Robin Hood display into a full medieval procession.
Famosa's Disney Heroes line
Famosa, based in Onil, Alicante, is one of Spain's best-known toy companies. Its Disney Heroes line for Robin Hood included figure sets and larger playsets, among them Prince John's carriage, a castle, Robin's treehouse and a catapult. The line was made for European markets, so sealed examples are seldom seen in the United States.

New old stock, sealed in its original clear plastic wrap; the set has never been opened. The wrap shows normal wrinkling and light handling, and the box inside is clean with bright colors. Please note that the plastic wrap reflects light in the photos.
