Vintage 1950s Stratton Powder Compact & Lipstick Holder – Asian Design – Pouch

An attractive vintage Stratton powder compact and matching lipstick holder, dating from approximately the 1950s.

Both pieces feature a beautifully detailed Asian-inspired design depicting colourful figures on horseback, exotic birds, animals, flowers and foliage against a warm gold-toned background.

The intricate decoration gives the set a wonderfully distinctive appearance, typical of the elegant and decorative vanity accessories produced during the mid-20th century.

The square powder compact has a gilt metal case and is marked STRATTON – MADE IN ENGLAND to the interior.

The matching lipstick holder features the same colourful decoration and retains its original metal lipstick mechanism.

Complete with a brown velvet pouch bearing the gold lettering Bijoux BEC – B.E. Cook, London.

Lipstick holder: 55mm long

Condition

In reasonable vintage condition, with some signs of age and use, including wear to the metal finishes and some spotting and deterioration to the compact mirror, as shown in the photographs.

The decorative exteriors remain attractive, with their colourful designs still clearly visible.
