Mk1 Golf GTI 1983 Lhasa Green 1.8

Welcome to auction of my Mk1 GTI

104000 miles with 3 previous owners to myself.
Historic vehicle so Mot and tax exempt.

The car is completely original apart from the BBS wheels and I’d call it a running driving project, I bought the car off a friend who had stored it for years, he never got round to getting it back on the road and I eventually talked him into selling it !
I’ve replaced fuel tank, filler neck, fuel pump, injectors and rebuilt metering head, timing belt, water pump, front brakes, rear exhaust, a very small welding repair to inner sill at rear by axle.

I had it Mot’d July 25 and it’s probably done less than 200 miles since, sadly it’s just not getting used enough to warrant keeping it, and I’ve other projects I’d like to do ahead of this one now.
It’s usable as is but needs injection pressures setting up and I think a WUR.
I’ve done 35 miles in it this week just needs to warm up before driving otherwise stutters as a bit lean.

I have the original tarantula wheels that come with car( tyres need replacing )

Bad bits
The roof and bonnet have got bad paint
Few small rust scabs on front and rear valances,
Coolant overheat light flashing(even when cold, temp gauge working fine and car doesn’t overheat)
Multi info display has a bit of mind of its own
Radio is the original unit but not working
Wipers are very slow across screen
Bit of rust on boot opening panel
Shocks are probably 40 year old so a little jarring.
Drivers seat bolster work through and rear seats faded.
Couple of small dents on drivers side.

Overall a really cool original little car, needs someone to carry it through to the next stage but a great investment.

Car is collection only and your welcome to come and have a look before bidding, please bear in mind you bid to buy and a £200 deposit is required by PayPal within 24hours or contact me as soon as auction ends.
