We purchased this over forty years ago at an estate sale and it was very old then.

We do not know the exact age or the provenance.

The height with the candle inserted is 15 3/4 inches.

The holder itself is 6 inches high and 4 1/4 inches round at the bottom.

The weight is 2 pounds, 3 ounces.

We do not know the country of origin but it could well be Italy, given the style.

The base appears to be made of heavy plaster; the candle is, of course, wax.

We have not attempted to remove any dust of touch up any nicks.

If you recognize this piece, I would appreciate your sharing any knowledge you have about it.
