Thank you for visiting my listing.

This listing features a set of three vintage Japanese color-printed postcards depicting the Imperial Japanese Navy battlecruiser Kongo, one of Japan's most historically significant warships. The postcards date from the Taisho to early Showa period (1918–1933).

The three illustrations present different views of Kongo: a fascinating cutaway illustration revealing the ship's internal structure, a dramatic view of the vessel underway at sea, and an illustration showing her original appearance around the time of completion.

Kongo was completed in 1913 by Vickers in Britain and became the first of Japan's four Kongo-class battlecruisers. She later underwent extensive modernization and served during World War II. These early illustrations preserve the appearance of the ship before her major reconstruction.

Each postcard bears a vintage Japanese commemorative stamp and cancellation on the illustrated side. The reverse of the set includes an additional pink commemorative impression. Together, these postcards offer an attractive combination of Japanese naval history, maritime illustration, and philatelic interest.
