A lined jacket which has a semi-fitted front; notched collar and below elbow length sleeves set into dropped shoulder armholes.  The designer - Michael Donnellan, has chosen feature size buttons for the front fastening.

The below knee skirt is slightly flared and comes with rolled seam detailing.

Wikipedia has a detailed page about Michael, a significant couturier based in London, who was known for his exceptional tailoring.  The Times noted in 1958 that ‘It is a fetish with Michael that his clothes must do something for the wearer, must flatter the woman’.
