Up for sale is a fantastic WWII U.S. Army uniform lot sourced directly from a recent estate sale. This lot includes an authentic Eisenhower "Ike" Jacket paired with a matching wool flannel "mustard" shirt. Both items feature the original, period-sewn insignia for the Replacement and School Command.
While the ranks differ—the shirt displays Sergeant chevrons and the jacket displays Technical Sergeant chevrons—this is a classic example of a soldier keeping an older shirt in service after earning a multi-grade promotion later in the war.
HIGHLIGHTS: - Ike Jacket Size: Features a pristine, highly desirable size tag marking it as a 40 LONG (40L). Excellent size for modern displays or re-enactors! - Research Potential: The interior collar of the mustard shirt features a crisp, clear handwritten laundry code: L-6176. This opens up a great "unsolved mystery" research project for the buyer to trace the veteran's identity. - Insignia: Both items retain original tricolor Replacement and School Command shoulder patches. The jacket includes its original "U.S." collar disk.
CONDITION NOTES: Both items are in honest, estate-found vintage condition. There is typical light soiling on the collars of both garments from active military use. The mustard shirt shows light vintage mothing and is missing one button on the front placket. The wool fabric remains structurally strong on both pieces.
Packaged with care and shipped immediately upon payment.
