Tamiya 28501 is a 1/35 scale snap-together model of Fukuiraptor, the carnivorous dinosaur discovered in Fukui Prefecture, Japan, and the first release in the Tamiya Clic Loc Dinosaurs Series. The shape, pose and even the skin texture are based on research from recognized academic institutions, with supervision by Fukui Prefectural University and the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum.
- 1/35 scale plastic model kit, length 118 mm
- Clic Loc snap-together assembly - no cement required, parts simply fit together
- Slide-molded head with fine detail including the fearsome teeth
- Crisp molding of the sharp claws and a realistic pose with lifelike body lines
- Display base part and human silhouettes included to give a sense of scale
- Detailed color leaflet with background information on Fukuiraptor
Fukuiraptor kitadaniensis was named in 2000 from fossils found in the 120-million-year-old Kitadani Formation; the specimen is 4.7 meters long, though the animal is believed to have grown larger. No color evidence survives in the fossil record, so the builder can paint the model as they choose; Tamiya Color paints are recommended.
