YMCA swimming coach crosses Toronto Bay shackled.
George H. Corsan, swimming instructor for the YMCA, diving off from Toronto Wharf at the start of his remarkable swim of two and a half miles across Toronto Bay, with his hands and feet shackled. No one has performed this feat in the past. At one time, it nearly cost him his life, but he managed to free himself by going to the bottom and kicking himself clear. Corsan was on his way to a camp in the Northland.
