This is a 100% safe and reliable case to use. The only controversial items which have caused issues in the past with this case, i.e. the screws holding the PCIE RISER in place, have been replaced with cable ties, making the case 100% absolutely safe and trouble free.
Description:
Lightly used, fully tested and working great. Please take note of the following points:
1. the 140mm liquid cooling AIO for the CPU that comes as stock with this case is missing. Therefore, it will need air cooling or another compatible type of cooler. To make it easier for the buyer, we have tested this case extensively with different combinations of air coolers, CPUs, and GPUs, in order to determine whether air cooling is a viable option. We can guarantee that it is. Here is the test setup we used; these are NOT INCLUDED WITH THE SALE:
Motherboard: ASUS STRIX X570-I GAMING
RAM: 16GB Crucial Ballistix 3600Mhz DDR4 with XMP (DOCP for ASUS) profile enabled
GPUs: EVGA RTX 2080 Ti XC 11GB and PALIT RTX 4060 DUAL 8GB
CPUs: RYZEN 9 5950X and RYZEN 7 5700X
CPU coolers: AMD WRAITH PRISM and AMD WRAITH SPIRE (NOT WRAITH STEALTH)
Notes: a) the Wraith Spire cooler (SPIRE, NOT STEALTH; the Spire variant has a much thicker heatsink than the Stealth and it is a better cooler) will leave clearance for the stock 140mm fan above it. That 140mm fan is the one that comes with the stock AIO which is not included in this sale. As there are no proper screw holes, we have mounted the fan on the grill with cable ties, which is perfectly fine. You can see the thermal results in the relevant photo. Screen shot was taken at the end of an intense gaming session. b) the Wraith Prism cooler is taller than the Spire and will not leave enough clearance for the 140mm stock fan, as the Spire did. Therefore, it has to be removed. See relevant photos for thermal results. c) we have tried both with dust filters on and off. There seems to be a small difference in temperatures. We have tried a power hungry and hot CPU (Ryzen 9 5950X) and a more mainstream one (Ryzen 7 5700X). The Ryzen 9 is a hot sample, not a regular 5950X, as that specific one tends to run a bit hotter than others of the same model, which is the reason why we have kept it for testing purposes. d) we have tried both an older and more power hungry GPU (2080 Ti) as well as a recent mainstream one (4060). See photos for relevant thermal results. e) we have not tried any Intel setups, but we cannot see why there would be a problem. The case will take a wide variety of stock and low profile coolers, with and without the stock 140mm fan installed. If we managed to install a Wraith Prism, it means that many coolers will fit.
2. the screws holding the PCIE riser onto the chassis are replaced with cable ties, as per Jay’s recommendation (Jayz2Cents, the YouTuber). This provides extra peace of mind for stability and reliability
3. it comes with quality 650w PSU, and PCIE riser.
Notes: if a PCIE 4.0 rated GPU is used, you need to make sure you change the PCIE main slot to Gen 3 in the BIOS. That is very common practice with a PCIE 3.0 rated PCIE riser. There is no impact to performance, at least not with the size of GPUs that can be used with this case. Obviously, the performance of an RTX 4090 might be impacted if the GPU is running at Gen 3 PCIE bandwidth, but probably a 4090 would not fit in this case anyway.
Please note: you will need your own 3pin power kettle lead. None is included with the sale.
Please note: as described previously, the AIO is not included and therefore you will have to make provisions for mounting an air cooler. No mounting gear is included for air coolers but those usually come with the motherboard (backplate and retentions brackets etc), and/or with the cooler itself.
