Antique English Blue & White Transferware “Cattle Scenery” Footed Cache Pot / Jardinière
Beautiful antique/vintage English blue-and-white transferware cache pot featuring an extensive pastoral Cattle Scenery design.
The cylindrical vessel is decorated in blue transfer print with a charming rural landscape featuring cattle, donkeys, sheep, trees, buildings and countryside scenery. A floral border decorates the interior rim, while raised ornamental bands encircle the upper and lower portions of the vessel.
The cache pot stands on three small white feet, giving it an especially attractive and unusual form.
The pattern bears a strong resemblance to documented Adams “Cattle Scenery” transferware. A specialist transferware archive documents Adams Cattle Scenery pieces and specifically illustrates a three-footed Cache Pot/Jardinière dating to the 1920s, with a narrow border around the inside rim and Cattle Scenery around the body.
