These bookends are plain, simple ceramic ones – nothing fancy, but something charming.  They might look good holding books in a nursery or child’s room – as long as they’re out of reach of the toddler or child.

 

Made in Taiwan, the girl and boy (both reading books) measure approximately 7” high.  The bases measure about 2” x 3” (not counting the feet).

 

What they need is a safe place (because of their fragility) and a little weight.  On their own, they’re too light to hold books by themselves.  But there are removable stoppers in the bases, and if you fill the insides with rice, peas, or clean sand, that should give enough weight to help them do their job.
