Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Writers Edition Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Thanks very much for looking at our listing for this Montblanc Writers Edition Jane Austen Mechanical Pencil, which comes with its book style Montblanc presentation box and stamped information booklet - confirming first purchase on 22nd December 2025. The pencil has been very lightly used and is presented in fantastic condition. Only 4000 were produced and this is number 1044.
Launched in 2024 as the yearly release in the Writers Edition series, the Jane Austen is a wonderfully detailed writing instrument. The design brings to life the Regency era - the barrel is finished in a sandstone-grey resin, with the appearance resembling that of a classical fluted column. The grey-blue hued cap is a reference to the double-collared Regency style coat worn by gentlemen, including famously Mr Darcy in Pride and Prejudice.
The Roman numerals XLIII are engraved on the cap ring and this is a reference to the precise chapter where Elizabeth Benet first sees Mr Darcy's estate. The clip is shaped like a braided cord, with a drawstring closure - this is a nod to the type of bag used by women to carry items such as their powder, mirror and pocked handkerchief.
The pencil is fitted with 0.7mm leads and an unused eraser.
