A striking framed historical maritime artwork depicting Henry VIII’s famous flagship, the Great Harry (Henry Grace à Dieu).
The artwork reproduces the historic 18th-century engraving depicting the great Tudor warship, with the original historical inscription describing the vessel’s construction at Woolwich in 1514 during the reign of King Henry VIII and its subsequent destruction by fire in 1553.
The original engraving was produced by Pierre-Charles Canot, after a drawing by Thomas Allen based on the Holbein tradition, and was published in 1756.
