100% ORIGINAL, MEN’S, VERY HARD TO COME BY HEUER “AUTAVIA AUTOMATIC CHRONOGRAPH” REFERENCE 11630, VICEROY, POWERED BY THE HEUER CALIBER 12 MOVEMENT. ALL STAINLESS STEEL, BIG 43mm,CHRONOGRAPH WATCH IN EXCELLENT PHYSICAL CONDITION AND RUNNING AND KEEPING TIME!
THIS WATCH IS RUNNING STRONG AND KEEPING GOOD TIME. THE BALANCE HAS EXCELLENT POISE AND A NICE STEADY BEAT.
WHEN YOU PUSH THE UPPER CHRONOGRAPH PUSHER BUTTON THE CHRONOGRAPH STARTS AND WORKS PERFECTLY, KEEPING TRACK OF THE SECONDS (center red hand) THE MINUTES (30 minute register on the right side of the dial) AND THE HOURS (the 12 hour counter on the left side of the dial).
WHEN YOU PUSH THE SAME BUTTON AGAIN, TO STOP THE CHRONOGRAPH FROM TRACKING, NOTHING HAPPENS. YOU HAVE TO MOVE THE STOP LEVER FROM THE MOVEMENT. THEN WHEN YOU PUSH THE BOTTOM PUSHER ALL THREE HANDS RESET PERFECTLY. SO THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE CHRONOGRAPH AS DESCRIBED.
Note: I wrote the above stuff yesterday. Today when I pushed the chronograph start button nothing happened. I messed with it a little on the inside and it worked again. I do not know what is going on but it needs some help of some kind. SOLD AS IS, NEEDING ATTENTION TO THE CHRONOGRAPH SECTION.

THE HUGE ALL STAINLESS STEEL SCREW BACK CASE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND HAS NOT BEEN POLISHED. IT HAS THE NORMAL SMALL TINY LITTLE “CUFF” MARKS AND SCRATCHES IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY. THE CASE HAS THE REFERENCE NUMBER BETWEEN THE LOWER LUGS (1163 0), AND THE SERIAL NUMBER BETWEEN THE UPPER LUGS (301,141).
THE 100% FACTORY ORIGINAL BLACK DIAL WITH WHITE SUB DIALS IS TOO KILL FOR – DROP DEAD BEAUTIFUL AND IN MINT CONDITION – THIS WATCH WILL FLAT IMPRESS YOUR FRIENDS!
I LOVE THE RED ACCENTS ON THE HOUR MARKERS AND HANDS! THE JET BLACK “TACHYMETER” SCALE BEZEL ON THIS WATCH IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH SOME TINY EXTREME EDGE “FLAKES”, THE DIAL IS PERFECT, THE CASE EXCELLENT PLUS! ALL ORIGINAL “HEUER” SIGNED CROWN AND ORIGINAL PUSHERS ARE EXCELLENT.
THE HEUER CALIBER 12 MOVEMENT IS A WORK OF ART. IT IS CRISP & CLEAN AND IN EXCELLENT PHYSICAL CONDITION, RUNNING STRONG BUT NEEDING A REPAIR/ADJUSTMENT FOR THE CHRONOGRAPH TO WORK CORRECTLY.
THE WATCH COMES ON A BEAUTIFUL, BRAND NEW, JET BLACK, STITCHED STRAP WITH STAINLESS STEEL BUCKEL (NOT HEUER) AND THEY LOOK FANTASTIC TOGETHER. IT HARD TO TAKE YOUR EYES OFF OF THIS WATCH WHEN IT IS BEING WORN.
HERE IS SOME HISTORY AND WHAT THE EXPERTS SAY ABOUT THIS TOP OF THE LINE SWISS MADE AUTOMATIC HIGH GRADE CHRONOGRAPH:
The Heuer calibre 12 movement was a development of the calibre 11 which preceded it, and the calibre 11 was developed by the ‘Chronomatic’ partnership of Heuer, Breitling, Hamilton-Buren and Dubois-Depraz in an attempt to be the first to the market with an automatic winding chronograph. It was revealed to the press on March 3 1969 in press conferences in NewYork and Geneva and was manufactured until about 1973. The calibre 12 was introduced in 1971 and was produced until 1980. The calibre 12 addressed a few of the issues that appeared with the calibre 11’s, modifications included using lighter jumper springs, a weaker mainspring to drive a redesigned date mechanism, some strengthening of various levers and hammers and a faster beat rate of 21,600 as opposed to the cal 11’s 19,800.
Reading the history of Heuer as it is usually written today, it’s easy to get the impression that the Carrera was the series that really established the brand’s credentials as the leading maker of racing-inspired chronographs. And while the Carrera was certainly important, it was in fact another model that had the real sporting heritage and authenticity- the Heuer Autavia. Taking its name from a combination of its target markets (“AUTomotive- AVIAtion”), the Autavia wristwatch was unveiled in 1962 and was the first new model launched under the guidance of the company’s then-new CEO, Jack Heuer.
And while the Carrera was, in substance, cut from the Heuer range in the 1970s, the Autavia was the heartbeat of the collection through to 1985 when the curtain finally came down on the Heuer brand. It was the first watch to be fitted with Heuer’s Chronomatic Calibre 11/ 12 movement and the last. While the Carrera began its life as a wristwatch, the original Autavia was actually a timing instrument, specifically a a dashboard timer for rally cars, as Jack Heuer explained in his autobiography.
