Vintage Heavy Duty Panic Snap Swivel Horse Livestock Lead Rope Safety Clip 4"

Vintage heavy-duty panic safety snap with swivel eye, designed for use with horse or livestock lead ropes, cross ties, trailer ties and other animal-handling equipment.

This is a particularly substantial piece of hardware measuring approximately 4" long overall and 1 1/2" wide.

The snap has an unusual protected release mechanism designed to help prevent accidental opening. To release the hook, the mechanism must be deliberately gripped at the recessed areas and pulled back/down. The heavy swivel eye at the opposite end allows the attached lead or strap to rotate freely without twisting.

This type of quick-release hardware is especially useful with horses and livestock because panic-style snaps can be released while under tension.

Very good vintage pre-owned condition. It shows some light surface wear from previous use but remains clean and substantial. No maker's mark is visible in the areas shown.

Great replacement hardware for vintage horse tack, livestock leads, farm equipment, show leads or a restoration project.
