Note: If your phone’s proprietary protocol does not support fast charging (USB without fast charging), you can use PD charging (Type-C output). The PD open standard supports over 90% of smartphones and provides higher and more stable output power.

Basic Knowledge of Fast Charging Protocols for Charging and Discharging

1. Fast charging is not a one-size-fits-all solution; it is merely a general term. Each smartphone manufacturer has its own proprietary protocol, and support for any one of these protocols enables fast charging;

2. If fast charging is not detected, only standard charging will occur. Standard charging for smartphones is typically limited to 10W or less, i.e., within 5V × 2A;

3. Fast-charging protocols are automatically matched between the phone and its chipset. While some phones support multiple protocols, the phone’s power management system selects the optimal fast-charging protocol based on the charging environment—this cannot be manually controlled;

4. If the charging cable lacks a high-voltage detection chip or is not a dedicated charging cable, the current is capped at 3A. Since the voltage for phone charging protocols is generally within 10V, the maximum power output for charging a phone typically does not exceed 30W.

5. The fast-charging protocols listed above represent the maximum power ratings specified by manufacturers. However, most smartphone manufacturers impose restrictions when non-original chargers are used, so the actual charging power is generally below 30W. Additionally, charging a smartphone is a variable process; the current is controlled by the phone’s own power management system and cannot be fixed—it can only fluctuate within the specified power range;

6. Flash charging involves high-current charging at 5V, which places extremely high demands on the charging cable; please use a dedicated flash-charging cable;

7. If the fast-charging current does not increase while the phone’s battery level is below 80%, the issue is almost certainly caused by a faulty charging cable or poor contact;

8. If the charging current for a battery pack is below 1A when the battery level is below 90%, and the charger has a power output of 10W or more, the issue is almost certainly caused by a faulty charging cable or the presence of high-internal-resistance, low-rate cells in the battery pack;

9. Since the current through the balancing resistors is extremely low, the balancing process will fail if there is a significant voltage difference between the cells. Please ensure that the actual voltage, capacity, rate, and internal resistance of all 8 cells are consistent; otherwise, one set of cells may discharge prematurely, causing the output to be interrupted;
