THE ROAD TO RANNOCH

AND THE

SUMMER ISLES

(RATCLIFFE BARNETT)

1944 New and Revised Edition

From the Foreword:

“Most of these papers, the record of many happy days, have appeared in ‘The Scotsman’.  One was published in ‘The Glasgow Herald’.  Three are printed here for the first time…..”

Please see third and fourth photographs above for a full list of contents

This 1944 new and revised edition hardback book is in good overall condition and displays little wear inside the book other than normal handling wear commensurate with the book’s age.  The pages are tightly bound and are free from tears, creases, and any significant marks.  As with many publications printed under wartime economy restrictions, paper quality and overall finish is not at the level that would normally be expected.  Surprisingly the book maintains its dustjacket although, whilst intact, does display rubbing, bumps, chipping and small tears to the edges and corners (see photograph).  Bumps are also evident to the corners of the hardboard covers.  The book runs to 184 pages (19cm x 12cm) which includes an additional 24 pages of illustrations.
