This exquisite 8 3/4" by 8 1/4" vintage Italian Florentine triptych features a classical devotional scene rendered in rich tones of blue, deep red, and gold gilt. The central panel depicts the Madonna with hands clasped in prayer, gazing down tenderly toward the Christ Child resting on a blue drapery with a golden halo. Flanking the central arched panel are two side panels featuring winged celestial angels holding musical instruments, one playing a drum and the other holding a tambourine, set against an antiqued gold-gilt background. The wooden frame is heavily accented with ornate raised gold-gilt moldings, decorative raised roundels, and an intricate damask-style patterned background behind the central Madonna figure. The reverse is finished in a traditional reddish-brown tone featuring a carved vertical wall-hanging slot and minor surface scuffs consistent with age and decorative display.

This vintage Italian Florentine triptych is in very good vintage condition with rich, intact colors across the central panels and wonderful aged patina to the gold-gilt wooden frame. There is light, expected surface wear, minor rubbing, and slight scuffing primarily along the edges and the red-painted reverse, all of which reflect its vintage character and history without detracting from its stunning devotional display appeal.
