The  Chronomat is a real piece of Breitling horological history. It's DNA underpins other models now synonymous within the Breitling range.

This is the first watch from Breitling to use their landmark B01 in-house movement, the first movement designed and manufactured completely in-house by Breitling. This movement is COSC certified and delivers a power reserve of 70 hours. The chronomat secured a place in the history of Breitling as their first watch that was made entirely by the Breitling company with no outside components sourced from other manufacturers.

The Breitling Chronomat 44 “Blue Impulse” is a striking tribute to aviation excellence, created in partnership with the aerobatic display team of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. Known as Blue Impulse, this elite squad represents precision, discipline, and technical mastery in the skies — values long associated with Breitling. Limited to just 400 pieces, this Japan-exclusive edition captures the spirit of flight through its design, celebrating both modern aviation and the enduring bond between pilots and their instruments.

The colourway is the true signature of this special edition. The rich, luminous blue dial mirrors the distinctive paintwork of the Blue Impulse jets, shifting subtly with the light and giving the watch a dynamic, almost airborne presence on the wrist.
