IWC’s history of producing highly legible aviation watches stretches back to the earliest days of flight, with the original oversized observation watch providing the inspiration for today’s Big Pilot. The modern Big Pilot returned in 2002 and has since become one of the most recognisable designs in the IWC collection.

Introduced in 2021, the Big Pilot 43 returned the model to the clean simplicity of its historical inspiration. The traditional power-reserve indicator and date display were removed, leaving a beautifully balanced three-hand dial housed within a more wearable 43mm case.

This blue-dial version retains the oversized conical crown and bold Arabic numerals associated with the collection. Its five-link stainless-steel bracelet features IWC’s EasX-CHANGE system, allowing it to be removed without tools, together with a fine-adjustment clasp for additional comfort.

Visible through the caseback is the IWC-manufactured calibre 82100. Its automatic Pellaton winding system uses wear-resistant ceramic components and provides approximately 60 hours of power reserve.
