This extraordinary three volume photo album archive offers a rare, deeply personal historical record of a German Jewish family spanning the pre war, WWII, and post war eras. The collection opens with mid century life in pre war Silesia and Pomerania, featuring formal portraits, home interiors, and leisure trips. The central volume serves as a vital historical document containing extremely rare photographs of the burned Stolp synagogue in the immediate aftermath of Kristallnacht in November 1938, alongside ocean liner passage photos and wartime refuge images from the Shanghai Ghetto. Among the most significant subjects documented is Rabbi Dr. Wilhelm Teichner, including photographs of his final resting place in the Shanghai Jewish Cemetery following his death in 1942. The final album tracks the family surviving diaspora through post war resettlement in the 1950s, complete with snapshots of family gatherings and mid century automobiles.
