Here is a “Pre-Transition” BARLING’S MAKE, in a very collectible YE OLDE WOOD, and a rare STRAIGHT GRAIN version. These early Barling’s Make pipes are getting harder to find, it’s from the family era. This one has the following markings: BARLING’S (arched over) MAKE, YE OLDE WOOD, STRAIGHT GRAIN, and T.V.F. The Barling’s Make is the early style arched stamping, and YE OLDE WOOD. The T.V.F. means “THE VERY FINEST” and that was stamped on pipes with notable fine qualities, during this early era. On the right has MADE IN ENGLAND. The grain on this bowl is pretty amazing, nicely defined straight grain, top rim is birdseye. The bowl is in great condition, with some signs of normal use and light wear, and no issues. The stem is made of vulcanite, has no noted wear, don’t know if it’s original, looks good. The pipe weighs about 1.18 ounce, 33.3 grams, draws easy with draw hole bottom center. Comes with an original satin drawstring pouch. Should be a great smoker and a nice addition to any collection!
