GERMAN FIGHTERS OVER ENGLAND

WORLD WAR 2 PHOTO ALBUM No. 10

(BRYAN PHILPOTT)

A selection of German wartime photographs from the Bundesarchiv, Koblenz

A 7-page introduction and a full-page campaign map set the scene for what is a lovely pictorial of German fighters operational during the Battle of Britain and the subsequent Blitz.  The photographs in this book have been selected with great care from the Bundesarchiv.

The Battle of Britain was undoubtedly one of the most important events in World War 2.  If the Luftwaffe were to destroy the RAF, Britain would be finished.  But could it be done?  This book is a unique pictorial record from the German viewpoint and contains an unparalleled selection of rare photographs taken on the spot by German war correspondents.  It covers both the aircraft and their crews and provides an essential reference source for historians, modellers, and aviation enthusiasts.

This 1979 softback publication is in very good overall condition.  The pages are tightly bound and are free from tears, creases and significant marks.  The cover pages exhibit only very light shelf wear in the form of light rubbing to the edges and minor bumps to the edges and corners (see photograph) and a small scuff mark on the bottom of the spine.  The book runs to 94 pages (23.5cm x 17cm) and is well illustrated with period photographs throughout.
