He died at the age of 84.
Until the moment of his death, there was a work that he continued to dream of performing and continue to create.
His name is "Dr. Coppelius".
Mr. Tomita left behind most of the original story and music concepts.
A large-scale story full of "dreams and hopes for space" that he has pursued for many years unfolds with an orchestra, synthesizers, and ballet.
The work was taken over by the project members who were working on it with him during his lifetime, and the premiere was held on November 11 and 12, 2016.
After the performance, Japan Columbia recorded the premiere of the performance, which ended with loud cheers and unstoppable applause.
Tomita's legacy of electronic sound, orchestral sound, and Hatsune Miku's song are a trinity, and the whole picture of music that has never been seen before is now revealed again.
